Make sure your project is open, and the sequence you want to make into a movie is active (click on the sequence window to make it active).

Choose File > Export > QuickTime Movie

A save window opens with the name of the sequence automatically entered in the Save As field. You can change this if you'd like.

The other fields should read:

Where: Your Hard drive should be here.  If not, navigate to your hard drive
Setting: Current Settings (or DV NTSC 48kHz)
Include: Audio and Video
Markers: None (this is fine unless you have taken the time to create chapter markers for use in a DVD)

Make sure the "Make Movie Self-contained" box is checked.

Then click the "Save" button.  It will take a few minutes to make your movie, but it takes less time than outputting a finished show.
